A Disturbing Crime in Summerville, South Carolina
The community of Summerville, South Carolina, has been shaken by a alarming incident involving a 34-year-old man from Mission Viejo, California, identified as Enver Marius Zueros. Reportedly, Zueros, who is known to cross-dress on social media, was already out on bond for an attempted murder charge. Now, he stands accused of kidnapping and assaulting an 89-year-old woman in Summerville. According to Fox News, Zueros allegedly targeted the elderly woman after she stopped providing him with financial support.
The Suspect’s Motive and Arrest
Investigations suggest that Zueros had been in a relationship with the victim’s deceased brother. After the brother’s passing, Zueros began reaching out to the woman, possibly with the intention of seeking financial gain. When she shifted her donations to charities instead of supporting Zueros, his anger escalated. Police reports indicate that Zueros meticulously planned the attack, traveling from California to an Airbnb in the area. He was apprehended in North Augusta while charging his electric vehicle.
The Kidnapping and Rescue
The victim’s neighbor, a retired law enforcement officer, became suspicious when Zueros was seen at her residence. Zueros provided a false name and claimed the woman was hospitalized after a fall. The neighbor, unconvinced, retrieved a gun and approached the house, prompting Zueros to flee the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Authorities later discovered the car, where the woman was found restrained under the rear seats, her wrists duct-taped, a dog leash around her ankles, and a trash bag over her head.
