Recently, Rüsselsheim introduced the all-electric Opel Frontera, and now, after seven years of production, Opel has rolled out the next-generation Grandland, which is notably larger.
Opel Grandland Showcased
The second generation of this SUV will also hit the market as an electric vehicle, showcasing several distinctive design features. Notably, the front boasts an LED-illuminated Opel lightning bolt emblem.
The new Opel excels in lighting technology. Its Pixel Matrix HD headlights, for example, are composed of 26,000 individual points of light. These lights are designed to illuminate around oncoming traffic, ensuring even and comprehensive lighting.
High Range and Quick Charging Capabilities
The 2024 Opel Grandland is available as both a plug-in hybrid, boasting an all-electric range of 85 kilometers per the WLTP standard, and as a mild hybrid paired with a gasoline engine. Opel also offers a fully electric model of the SUV.
In its electric version, a battery capacity of up to 98 kWh allows for a range of up to 700 kilometers (WLTP). When connected to a suitable fast-charging station, the electric vehicle from Rüsselsheim can be charged up to 80% in less than half an hour.
The SUV comes equipped with a wide array of assistance systems. Particularly notable is the Intelli-Drive 2.0 system, which enables features like semi-autonomous driving including lane change assistance, park pilot, a 360-degree camera, intelligent speed adaptation, and automatic traffic sign recognition.
Interior and Sustainability
The interior is dominated by displays, but traditional buttons, such as those for controlling the air conditioning, are also available. A head-up display is optional. Similar to Volvo’s approach with the EX30, Opel uses many recycled materials inside the cabin.

Opel has not yet disclosed the exact market launch date or price for the 2024 Opel Grandland. More updates from the world of (electric) mobility will be available here.
